Kusan: City of Wolves Nintendo Switch 2 Review

An isometric cyberpunk action arcade game that blends precision and creativity to make an addictive but tough game.
Kusan is a gory damn mess of a roguelite arcade platformer. Trust me I mean that in a good way. At it's heart this game rewards you for being as creative as possible. String together your attacks to create combos and complete each stage with as high a score a possible, this lends itself to an amazing amount of replayability, especially as you earn new upgrades.
You have to be careful with your limited inventory slots though. The dev team have crafted a really good slot system you can expand as you progress through the game. But with limited space until later on choose your preferred load out carefully as you can have it all. There are also some very good but difficult puzzles to help you expand your slot system.
The story is at is heart a rescue mission, there's a layered history to the characters back story which adds to the compelling nature to it. The game isn't long if you can breeze your way through the leaves but at the same time you need to learn the patterns each level throws at you to master the combat.
