Gamescom 2025
Gamescom 2025 is in full swing, and as always, the flood of game announcements is absolutely overwhelming – it feels like every few minutes there's another trailer dropping or surprise reveal that has the gaming community buzzing! With so many studios showcasing their upcoming projects, from indie darlings to massive AAA blockbusters, it's nearly impossible to keep track of everything that's being unveiled. The sheer volume of content means that even the most dedicated gaming enthusiasts are struggling to stay on top of all the reveals, trailers, and gameplay demos. But amidst this exciting chaos, a few titles have managed to cut through the noise and really grab attention with their unique concepts, stunning visuals, or promising gameplay mechanics that make them stand out from the packed lineup.
Games That Caught My Eye
Wizordum
A retro-inspired first-person fantasy "shooter" that channels classic 90s FPS vibes with modern polish. Think Heretic meets Doom with gorgeous pixel art and spell-slinging combat that looks absolutely mesmerizing.
Eko and the Bewitchlands
A randomly generated action-adventure RPG with roguelike and puzzle elements. It looks like a charming action-adventure mixing whimsical exploration with some atmospheric maps. It reminds me of Zelda and Tunic hopefully with a little bit of roguelike magic sprinkled in.

Morsels
This one's giving me some Pokemon dungeon crawling vibes. The trouble is these Pokemon aren't quite so cute and loveable. It looks like a bullet hell 16 bit gorgeous grotesque adventure that I want to see more of.
Roadwarden
This one may be cheating as it's already got a lot of respect put to its name but it's coming to the Switch very soon on August 25th! An incredible text-based RPG that combines gorgeous pixel art with deep storytelling and meaningful choices. If you missed it on PC, this Switch port is the perfect excuse to dive in.
Netherworld
A depraved pixel art action-adventure from Hungry Pixel will launch for PC and Nintendo Switch on September 12th, which was revealed today during the Future Games Show at Gamescom. It looks like a riot of minigames, misadventures and mischief.
Deer & Boy
Deer & Boy is a poetic cinematic platformer where you follow the journey of a boy who, after a tragic event, decides to escape his own fate of reality. It looks like Endling meets Inside or Little Nightmares with hopefully a little less death along the way. However with that being said we remember what happened to Bambi's mother.
Tales of Xillia Remastered
This one is definitely cheating but looks immense and I'm excited by the remaster!
